The city of Charlotte is scheduled to begin distributing a Center City Evacuation brochure to everyone who works and lives in uptown Charlotte, Friday, April 1. The city has asked all large employers in Charlotte to join in the efforts to inform residents and workers of the uptown evacuation plans that have been established in case of emergency. Charlotte joins a number of cities across the country which have developed similar disaster preparedness plans under the Homeland Security initiative.
